Money is tight and people are tightening their belts in all areas of their lives. It seems like the first thing most people decide to sacrifice is a stellar summer vacation, which is unfortunate. We are working harder and harder — and now it is more difficult to get a break, simply because we cannot afford it. However … that does not have to be the case. There are a number of fun, hot, but affordable vacation destinations right here in the United States.
South Padre Island, Texas. A lot of you may be shaking your heads at this location. You probably think of it as a popular destination for kids on Spring Break — and that’s true, it is. But we aren’t talking about going in the spring, we are talking about going to this friendly Texan paradise in the summer, where things are not nearly so crazy.
They are not nearly so expensive, either. Summer is still a popular time on South Padre Island, but it is not nearly as wild as the spring months. Nothing is as expensive as it is then. In August, especially, you can look forward to discount airfare and hotel accommodations. Save even more money by picking a hotel away from the beach.
